Why are Dog Sweaters necessary

If someone was looking at a dog wearing a sweater, the sight would look odd to him. Making a dog wear a dog sweater raises the question of the necessity of the extra protection when the dog quite clearly has enough protection as fur on its body. Not all dogs are meant for the cold climate and as such will require extra protection.

The Chihuahua is a type of dog who has a very thin fur coat and is meant for living in the warmer climates. This is mostly due to the fact that the Chihuahua evolved into existence in tropical climates and as such was not built for winter protection. The reason why dog sweaters are necessary is for those dogs that live in colder climates with their owners.

Dog sweaters do not make it difficult for the dog to go on with its daily business but keeps it warm nonetheless. Dog sweaters are found in many different styles so that the owners can take their pick. It depends on the style of the sweater whether a neck will be there or not.

The ones with the neck is a bit more of a hassle to put on a dog but offers better protection against the cold compared to the one which does not have necks. The design of the sweater decides whether it has a front sleeve or not. The chest strap is included to keep the sweater tightly stuck to the dog if there are no front sleeves.

All of the sweaters for dogs cover the dogs’ back up to the base of the tail and keeps the rear exposed so as to not cause any discomfort to the dog’s ability to relieve himself. Make sure that the dog sweaters, or other dog clothes will have a firm fit on your dog before buying it. Unless the sweater is tight, it might slip off the dog when the dog tries to take part in rigorous physical activities.

If the sweater is too tight, the dog will feel constricted and will fight against letting you place it on him and even if you manage to make the dog wear it, it will still try to free himself and will end up being too busy with trying to get free that it will become impossible for you to walk him. It is always a best practice to find the properly fitting sweaters for your dog as anything other than the proper fit will create discomfort for your dog and will make the dog reluctant while wearing the sweater and even if you manage to make it wear the sweater, it will struggle against the sweater and get it worn out quickly. Dog sweaters are something that can help make your dog stand out, although it is intended for protecting your dog from the harsh climate, it can also be used as a fashion statement which helps to bring forth your dog’s characteristics and traits and make it clear to everyone looking on what your precious little pet is like.
