Dog worm types, or dog parasites, are listed in this page along with dog heartworm treatment and dog worm medicine. Dog worms are nothing to take lightly because if your dog has heartworm for instance, it can be fatal without the proper dog heartworm treatment.
Frequent fecal exams is the best way to see if your canine has any dog worm types. Not only does your dog need to be aware of these dog parasites, but their owners as well, because humans can get the same worm types that the four legged members can.
A slender spaghetti noodle shaped dog worm are called roundworms, and this is one of the dog parasites that are found often in puppies as they become infected in utero through a transplacental transfer from their mother who has rignworms. Like most dog worm types, a fecal exam will determine exactly what the parasite is.
If your dog does attract heartworm the treatment can be traumatic, with an involved veterinary process, so when it comes to dog worm types do not fool around with heartworm. So all dog parasites are not good for the dog in the family, but heartworm can be fatal. This parasite is spread via a misquito and will live in the heart muscles of your dog. A blood test should be done annually to determine if your dog has heartworm.
Tapeworms are transmitted by fleas. If your canine is infested then you will see egg sacks (which look like grains of rice) around their anus that might be moving. To get rid of this type of dog worms the dog worm medicine prescribed by your veterinarian will do the trick. Regular deworming medication will not get rid of these dog parasites.
